Easter Blessings

I hope this post finds you with family and friends enjoying a wonderful, blessed Easter full of fun, laughter and remembering the true reason for this precious day!

Here is another card from March's Stamp Club and from a recent workshop.  I love the simple elegance of this card.  Sometimes I get so into adding and layering that I forget that simple can make such an incredible statement.  This is such an elegant stamp set.  The flowered image really doesn't need anything added to it.

 

We used pastels to color in the flowers.   I must admit that I rarely use our pastels, they do intimidate me just a little.  I think it relates to art classes in school where I tried, unsuccessfully, to create a beautiful masterpiece with pastels.  All I managed to do was make a blurred, smudged image that no one could make out.  Our Stampin' Pastels are incredibly easy to use.  We just touched a Blender Pen to the corner of the pastel and the pen picked up the color.  Than color your image just like you would normally with a blender pen.  It is that easy.  You also get all 48 colors and a selection of neutrals with the pastels.

Stamping With Wet Wipes

March's Stamp Club technique was the "Baby Wipe Technique".  This technique was so much fun to do that I even took it to one of my daughter's classes for them to do some stamping and card making.  I will share their project later this week.  This technique reminds me of tie-dye shirts although that could be due to the colors we used for our card.  I also love the fact that the look of the technique changes the longer the ink sits on the wet wipe.

September Stamp Club Projects

I had so much fun at last month's Stamp Club.  I hope you all did too!  It is always fun making messes when you are stamping and this month's technique was messy, but so much fun!  We did the Shaving Cream technique this month.  Now I am not going to go into details about how to do this technique (one of the perks of being in Stamp Club) but I will share the final results with you.

 

It kind of reminds you of a tie-dyed shirt, doesn't it?  Now you can make the background as light or as dark as you want.  I went for a bolder look since I was using our bold new In Colors.  It really is a fun background.  I can't wait to do this at one of my Kid/Teen Camps!!

The second card we did used the Sweet Treat Cups and the Sweet Center Stamp Set.  When I was a kid I used to spend my summers with my grandparents in California.  Almost every summer we were there for the Napa Valley Hot Air Balloon Festival.  The sky would be full of Hot Air Balloons of every color imaginable and some creative shapes as well.  So I have always loved Hot Air Balloons.

Very simple and sweet!  I love these treat cups but I don't want to destroy the card in order to get to the candy.  So I decided to add a slider so you could get to the candy without ripping the card.  Here is a picture of the slider.

Stamp Club

Hello!  Stamp Club starts tonight!!  Yippee!  I am just a little excited, can't you tell?  =)  I really enjoy Stamp Club.  I get to know my customers a little better and best of all we get to stamp together on a regular basis.  Plus I love the challenge of coming up with brand new techniques for you all to try.

This month's Stamping Technique is:  Shaving Cream.  I know, you are probably wondering what shaving cream has to do with stamping, right?  Well you will just have to come and see.

Texture, Texture & Some More Texture!

This is a card I cased from someone (sorry I can't remember who or where the idea came from) for our second Stamp Club card.  

I love the colors and all the texture.  These are not colors I would normally pair together but I think I may have to do some more experimenting with this combination.  I used the Texturz Plates to get the Harlequin texture on the card base.  I also used textured Rose Red cardstock which I am quickly learning is a must to make a card POP.  It is such a subtle texture that you can stamp on it without getting a spotty image.

You would also be proud to know that I finally opened my Pretties Kit.  It has been sitting unopened on my desk for three months.  I must admit I am a hoarder of my supplies.  I buy paper, never use it, the same with embellishments and other goodies.  I am trying to break myself of that habit and actually use stuff.  =)

Hibiscus Re-Inker Spread

We did another card featuring this technique at May's Stamp Club as well.  My upline, Rebecca Jung, gave me the idea to use this stamp set for this technique.  I think it is another beautiful way to showcase this beautiful look.  There are many great lined-image stamp sets in the catalog that would be fun to use this technique with.

This image was a little trickier to use than the Fifth Avenue Floral Rose, which has many petals that give you guidelines on where to put the ink.  This image is more open so you have to blend the colors to achieve the look you want.  I wanted a softer look for this image so I added a bit more water than I did with the rose in my previous post.

RECIPE:  Stamp--Embrace Life; Ink--Kiwi Kiss, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, & So Saffron; CS--So Saffron, Whisper White, Shimmery White & Basic Black; DSP--A Walk In the Park; and Ribbon--Black Grosgrain.
