It is official!! Spring is here! Although here in the Pacific Northwest the weather can't quite make up its mind what it wants to do. One day we have sunshine, the next rain than yet another it is so cold there is frost on the ground. Although the spectacular views we get to see every day definitely make the fickle weather worth putting up with. =)
Wouldn't you agree?
Anyway, back to stamping, although this project doesn't even include stamping. I had a recent workshop and I wanted to do something different for the make n' take. Most of the guests were stampers or scrapbookers. So I wanted to show them a new way to look at their supplies and the Big Shot. So off I went on a creative spree and this is what we made...
Isn't that cute? I was looking for something fun to fill an empty space on our wall (since I can't figure out what Decor Element I want to put up). So I decided to make a banner and share it at the workshop. The guests loved it. It always amazes me how different people can come up with different projects using the same materials.
Here are some up close pictures...
So here is how we made it...
1. I cut chipboard and DSP down to 5" X 5" squares. I glued the DSP to the chipboard and let it dry.
2. I than cut out the squares with the Scallop Square Clear Die (#115950 pg. 199 $21.95). The Big Shot cut through the chipboard and the paper at the same time. I am in love with this die! It is an exclusive Stampin' Up! die and is so versatile.
3. I cut the letters out using my Sans Serif Alphabet dies (#113464 pg. 199 $149.95). I popped the letters up with dimensionals.
4. The butterflies were cut out with the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Butterflies die (#114507 pg. 198 $21.95) and with the Butterfly Punch (#116629 pg. 186 $15.95). The tiny flowers were punched out using the Trio Flower punch (#109183 pg. 186 $15.95).
5. To add some texture to the butterflies and flowers I added the Silver Duo beads and microbeads (#110733 pg. 180 $9.95). I attached the beads with Crystal Effects (#101055 pg. 192 $6.25).
It is a very simple project and such a fun way to dress up any room.
