Big Shot Does More Than You Think!

I must admit that my favorite Stampin' Up! tool is the Big Shot.  I actually squealed when I read the announcement about it.  I love all of the incredible projects that the Big Shot can help me with.  My kids love to cut out Bears and dress them up.  The fact that I can cut out 20 party favors in a matter of minutes is a huge perk for a busy Mom.  The exclusive dies that Stampin' Up! offers are fabulous and so versatile for scrapbooking or card making.

My latest craze with the Big Shot is cutting out fabric with it.  I am a little addicted to this new use of the Big Shot.  I enjoy sewing but haven't done much over the past year or so.  When I discovered all of the incredible projects I could do with fabric and the Big Shot, a whole new crafting world opened up for me.  We recently purchased a new sewing machine since my old one bit the dust.  I have been busy incorporating two of my favorite hobbies:  sewing and the Big Shot!

Here is one of my latest projects.  This was for a friend of my daughter's birthday present.  I cut everything out using the Big Shot.

Isn't it adorable?  A perfect, fun tote for a nine year old.  I also added a fun headband I embellished using fabric and the Big Shot but you will have to wait for another day to see that.

Did you like playing with paper dolls as a kid?  I did.  I don't think I have ever outgrown that either.  I play with paper dolls with my oldest daughter.  Now I can play with paper bears and so can you.  Stampin' Up! is now selling a variety of Build-A-Bear Workshop Sizzix Dies, Embosslets  and Sizzlets.  These images are exclusive to Stampin' Up!

They are so cute.  I know that my kids and I will be having lots of fun with these adorable bears in the future.  Here is a card that my mom, Lyn, a fellow demonstrator made for one of our recent swaps.

Isn't she adorable?  It did take a little work to layer all the pieces onto the card but the end result is so much fun!

Isn't this adorable?  This card was my first using the BABW stamp set: Beary Best Friends.  I immediately fell in love with this set and couldn't wait to get it.  The Designer Series Paper used on the card is the Pawsitively Prints that is featured in the Mini Catalog.  Isn't it adorable?  Perfect for soft touches and for bear clothes.

This card is 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" square which is stepping out of the box for me.  It fits perfectly in our %-1/2" x 5-1/2" square envelopes even with the pocket and crayons.  I thought the idea of allowing the birthday boy or girl to color their own card was so much fun.  

I saw this card in my Stampin' Success magazine which is an exclusive magazine for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  I love getting this magazine it is full of ideas and tips.  So if you want to get this fabulous publication than ask me how you can sign up and join my team!!

Here is how I made the card:

1.  Using a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock, cut it at 12" x 5-1/4".  You can get two cards out of each piece of 12" x 12" cardstock.  Set aside the 1-1/2" strip you will use it later.

2.  Score your cardstock piece at 5-1/4", 10-1/2" & 10-7/8".  Fold using a bone folder.  This will make the pocket of your card.

3.  Take the 1-1/2" x 12" strip and cut two pieces at 5-1/4" in length.  Fold in half.  Attach with sticky strip to the top of your "pocket".  This will help make your pocket taller to hold the crayons better.

4.  Adhere the sides of the pocket to your card using sticky strip.  SNAIL is not strong enough to hold--you have to use sticky strip.

5.  Decorate your card how you want.  Simple.  If you have any questions e-mail me.
