I have finally found time to stamp!! Yeah! Those of you who follow my Tweets (go to the right sidebar to follow me on Twitter) know that I have been busy trying to get re-organized. Life has been so busy over the past few months that I haven't taken the time to properly put things away. Now I can't find anything. School is out and it is time to put everything away. But I did take the time for some creative therapy!! =)
I actually opened one of my new In Colors today--Rich Razzleberry (one of my favorites). I have also been busy working on June's Stamp Club projects (which I will show you at the end of the week, my club ladies get to see them first) and this beautiful, elegant gift box set.
The box is made with Rich Razzleberry Cardstock and acetate for the cover. The box reminds me of the box cards you see at Christmas time in the stores. This would make a beautiful gift for someone-Grandma, mother-in-law, close friend, etc.
I bet you are wondering where I got the die-cut? Yes I used the big shot to get it and the Top Note die... (hard to see I know I just haven't figured out how to make it darker yet).
Here is what I did..
1. First I ran the Whisper White through the Big Shot using the cutting plates and the Top Note Die (SU! Exclusive).
2. Take the cut out Top Note Die and turn it 90 degrees. Be sure to line it up carefully. Run it through the Big Shot again to get the square shape.
I did not come up with this idea, Mary Jo Price-Williams did. Click on her name to see her original post on how to make this square and other shapes.
Here is the belly band off the box and you can see the front of the card. I made the belly band match the cards so you could get an idea of what was in the box. The band itself is made from the leftover CS from the box. Want to know how to make the box?
I cut the cardstock to 8" X 6.5" and scored each side by 1". I than cut the along the scoring line (until the 1" mark) on the four of the opposite sides. Than just put it together with Sticky Strip. If you can't figure it out than e-mail me and I will give you more specifics.
Here is the card and the matching envelope. The ribbon is Rich Razzleberry Polka Dot Grosgrain which will be in the new catalog. The cool thing about this ribbon is that the dots are only on one side so you can turn the ribbon over to get a plainer look. I am borrowing this stamp from another demo and am having way too much fun playing with it.
