Stamp Club has wrapped up for another year. =( I had a wonderful time this year getting to know the members of the club. I learned so many new techniques this year as well. We have done a lot of different projects this year that have been so much fun. I can't wait for next year's club to kick off. Here are two of the three projects we made this month.
The technique we learned this month was the "Pin Tuck" Technique. This may have a completely different name, I don't know, this is what I am calling it. =) I love this look, it adds so much texture and fun to your cards and scrapbook pages.
This is such a pretty, simply elegant card. The kraft paper keeps the card from being too stuffy.
RECIPE: Stamps-A Rose Is a Rose & Warm Words; CS-Whisper White, Kraft, Rose Red & Regal Rose; Ink-Pretty in Pink, Rose Red & VersaMark; Punches-Small Oval, Scalloped Oval, Scallop Edge & Crop-a-Dile.
Here is a close up picture to show you all the rose layers and an up close look at the "Pin Tuck" technique. Isn't it elegant? Want to know how to do it? It is so much easier than you think!
1. You need a bone folder and a ruler or your paper trimmer.
2. Find your center point on your cardstock. Using your bone folder to score a line, score a diagonal line across your cardstock. Measure an inch to the right and score again on the diagonal. Keep moving over an inch and scoring a diagonal line that runs parallel to your center line. Do this on both sides of the center line.
3. Now repeat step 2 but go in the opposite direction to create "diamond" shapes.
4. Turn your cardstock over. Your lines should be popped up on the paper.
5. Punch out 3/16th" chads of the same cardstock (use your crop-a-dile).
6. Using your 2-Way Glue Pen put a drop of glue in each X of the cardstock. Glue a chad onto each X.
7. Voila! Add this to your card to get a beautiful texture on your project!
The little box we made is incredibly easy to make. It is made using the Big Shot and the Scallop Envelope Die (SU! Exclusive). I cut out four envelopes to be the four sides of my box. I am not sure who originally came up with this idea since I have seen it all over the web but isn't it adorable? I used the same materials as the card (with the exception of adding the Regal Rose 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon).
